| What is Laminated Glass?
Laminated glass provides strength and beauty, durability and clarity to meet a wide variety of design needs. Long lasting and versatile, it is the only glazing material that combines the durability and strength of glass with the toughness of plastic. Laminated glass is made by bonding two more layers of glass, using heat and pressure, with one or more interlayers of polyvinyl butyral resin (PVB). The result is a tough, adaptable glazing material that offers outstanding features to meet a wide variety of design challenges. Depending on design needs, laminate glass can be man made with sheets of annealed, and/or tempered glass. It is easy to work with and replace, and provides important structural performance features and benefits:
Laminated glass by California Glass Bending Corp. resists penetrations from impacts. When broken, the glass adheres to the resilient PVB interlayer, remaining relatively harmless, unlike ordinary glass which may create dangerous shards, or tempered glass, which when broken losses integrity by 'dicing', thus voiding the opening in the structure or vehicle.

Competitive prices, outstanding delivery dates, and close interactive customer service make CGBC a perfect choice for your next job. Bullet Resistant Glass
Bullet Resistant Glass is a standard production item at CGBC. Acoustical Glass Noise reducing acoustical glazing utilizing laminated glass is a Cal Glass Bending mainstay. By adjustments in make-up and variations in interlayers and glass ply configurations, specific noise vibrations can be vastly reduced or virtually eliminated. See the STC Table for descriptions and products addressing these issues. Security Glass
The safety of personal property and, more importantly, the protection of human life, has become a greater concern in modern society. Insulating Glass Units Cal Glass Bending fabricates a Class 'A' IG Unit. Typically utilizing a Dual Sealed Structural Silicone secondary sealed unit, these units give exceptional performance and are extremely long lived. Combining energy efficient outboard layers and laminated security enhancing inboard layers, many different needs can be met in a pleasing and effective glazed area. Used in various building locations and constructed in numerous lay-ups, they clearly meet today's complex energy needs along with the project's design requirements. See the SECP Table .
